In September 2011 curators Simon Wright and Emma Dean from Milton Keynes gallery and Bea de Souza, the artistic director of the London based independent gallery the Agency came together to lend their shared interest in sound art a platform. Regular monthly live performances of sound artists such as Sculpture, Simon Schaefer, Clare Gasson and Mimosa Moize are continuing to be held at both venues. For ‘Antistrophe’ Simon Wright and Bea de Souza utilise the format of a live concert for the first time. Antistrophe represents a progressive approach to merging the different approaches of art performance, sound art, film and experimental music fluidly for an audience to reflect, listen and hopefully dance.
