RCA Opportunity

Curators from the Royal College of Art are looking for an artist for a paid, temporary, site-specific public art commission in White City, London.

The RCA are seeking to commission artists who are interested in working site specifically in White City, London to produce new, temporary work in response to a number of sites within the area. The project will address the way urban experience is produced through the relationship between people, environment and space. It will consider the rhythms that people move in within city spaces, how these are influenced by natural sequences and ongoing building and construction work, and embody moments of periodic activation and visibility in White City’s past, present and future. The commission is for temporary works that engage with audiences and sites to reveal these transient rhythms and patterns of visibility and would suit artists working with sound, light, installation, performance, moving image or across disciplines. The project is curated by an international collective of seven curators as part of the Curating Contemporary Art Programme Graduate Projects 2018, Royal College of Art. The commissioned works will open to the public in May 2018.

Application Deadline: 21 January 2018
