The Shape Open

Shape Arts have opened submissions for their annual exhibition of artwork by disabled and non-disabled artists.

The Shape Open will be hosted by Nunnery Gallery at Bow Arts this year and the theme is ‘In Circles’. There are no restrictions on who can apply, as long as the works submitted respond, abstractly or literally, to ideas on the theme, and contribute to the discourse on what disability is and could be.

Are we going around in circles? Disability Arts and the mainstream have long run parallel to one another whilst rarely converging. The conversations surrounding this divide have seemingly circled but what has come of it? Where are our points of connection and commonality?

The deadline is 12 noon, Monday 15 April 2019 and artists can apply here.
