The John Ruskin Prize: Agent of Change

Artists, designers and makers at all stages of their careers and currently resident, working or studying in the UK are invited to submit to The John Ruskin Prize 2019.

Open to wide interpretation, this year submissions are welcomed in response to the theme: Agent of Change. As a multidisciplinary prize, creative practitioners working across and within a range of disciplines including: Art, design, architecture and craft are invited to enter.

As well as a total prize fund of £5K, 25 shortlisted artists will have their selected works included in a high-profile exhibition at The Holden Gallery, Manchester in Summer 2019 and have the option to sell their work in the ‘Ruskin Editions’ collection.

The John Ruskin Prize 2019 selection panel includes: Barbara Walker MBE (Artist), Hew Locke (Artist), Jessie Brennan (Artist) and Dr Jonathan Foyle (Architectural Historian, Broadcaster & Artist).
