From the Book to the Book

Ten artists explore the book as object, space and stage.

at Offshoot

Eliza Bennett, Simon Head, Anastasia Mina & Maria Ikonomopoulou, Catrin Morgan, Kasper Pincis, Nick Scammell, Joanna Vestey, Duncan Wooldridge and Rahel Zoller. Organised by Nick Scammell.

Offshoot presents From the Book to the Book, a group exhibition exploring the place and future of the book in contemporary culture. The fading presence of books in everyday life represents a profound break with the past. Yet when a medium becomes liberated from workaday function new freedoms always emerge. Thus, the book is open to rediscovery and re-performance as container, guardian and symbol.

The exhibition also includes an artist-curated micro-library and sofa.

Workshop, Book-Making—From Book to Structure, Sunday 10 November, 10am-1pm: Join artist and designer Rahel Zoller for a hands-on introduction to book-binding.
