Rebecca Vassie Memorial Award

New grant opportunity for an early-to-mid-career photographer in or from the UK.

The Rebecca Vassie Memorial Award for 2020 offers a grant of £2000 to complete a photographic project and includes support from industry professionals, plus printing.

The Trust supports early-to-mid-career photographers based in or from the UK. Through the Trust's bursary awards, funding new work documenting lesser-known peoples and communities: human stories we seldom see. The Trust was set up following the tragic death of the British photographer, and photojournalist Rebecca Vassie, aged 30, while on assignment in Uganda in 2015.

Who can apply: An early-to-mid-career photographer in or from the UK

The award: £2,000 to undertake a narrative photography project with a social or political context; approx. £1,000-worth of printing at Metro Imaging; support from the Trust towards public and industry exposure of the work; membership of Shutter Hub.
