South London Gallery Postgraduate Residency 2020/21

The South London Gallery Postgraduate Residency is an open submission six-month live-in residency that provides an early-career artist with a rare opportunity to produce a new body of work, which is then exhibited at the SLG, an internationally renowned institution in south east London.

The South London Gallery Postgraduate Residency is an open submission six-month live-in residency that provides an early-career artist with a rare opportunity to produce a new body of work, which is then exhibited at the SLG, an internationally renowned institution in south east London.
The residency is open to artists who have completed a BA, and have undertaken a period of self-directed, peer-led or postgraduate study between October 2019 and October 2020. This can include alternative, peer organised and non-accredited programmes from an institution, collective or art school in the UK as well as an MA, MFA, PGDip, MRes. 
Between October 2020 – April 2021, the recipient will receive the following:  
rent-free accommodation in the SLG Outset Artists’ Flat next door to the gallery;  
studio space in the SLG Fire Station;
a £6,000 bursary to produce new work and help support living expenses;   
mentoring sessions and studio visits from SLG staff, including the Director, and other arts professionals;  
the opportunity to produce a publication;  
the opportunity to present a public event in response to their practice;  
a solo exhibition opening March 2021 in one of the SLG Fire Station galleries.  
The residency is generously supported by the Paul and Louise Cooke Endowment
