We are excited to share that Art Licks is now based across both London and the North York Moors. From Cow Syke – our new remote valley home (pictured) – we will start to run artist residencies and workshops with the local community.
We are very grateful to have received funding from Arts Council England to run six months of Research & Development at Cow Syke. This is the starting point for a long-term Art Licks project that will explore how contemporary visual art practice can unearth and reignite the histories of the Yorkshire Moors and its coastline, working with local communities to share in this.
For R&D, Art Licks’ Curator Holly Willats will research the history of the Moors, make partnerships and community connections, and host two pilot residencies with artists Holly Graham and Emily Hesse.
