Across 2021 and 2022, both Holly Graham and Emily Hesse were artists in residence at Art Licks’ new space on the North York Moors in Bransdale. Both artists were invited to approach this as a research residency: an opportunity to explore the history of the Moors and find points of interest for their practice.
An Artist's Discussion was held online on Tuesday 13 July 2021 between Holly and Emily, with Art Licks' Director Holly Willats. Each artist gave a brief presentation on their research at the time and their experience of spending time on the Moors, followed by questions from the audience.
The residencies were funded by Arts Council England.
